I have always loved singer-songwriters. I have no musical talent but luckily I can write, and it is often while listening to music.
The book will contain 10-12 short stories inspired from songs, and brief Triggering entries that will include words about how a piece was written. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Music Health Alliance and MusiCares. Promotionally, events will be organized with Musicians on Call, which brings music to the bedsides of patients, families, and caregivers in healthcare environments.
Together we will swap a story for a song. It’s simple: I write a short story about one of your songs that has inspired and moved me, and I send along a different story that, if you like, can be used to write a song. Kind of like a swap meet but with words, images, and lyricism.
I’ve published eight books with another coming out in 2026 called Equipment for the Darkness, a collection of short stories that won the 2025 Spokane Prize in Fiction. You can also check me out here:
